LUNCHING WITH SYLVIE

There I went. With extra firm curls, on extra high heels, in an extra cute dress. Totally Sylvie-proof therefore. I only had to go two Avenues west, that's how close lunch is with this beautiful and intriguing woman. But the short distance didn't help; with the current humidity level of 500% (it feels more like Asiaë than North America) it unfortunately doesn't matter at all whether you're outside for 1 minute or 100 minutes. Give it about 30 seconds and your whole look collapses like a pudding. Okay, nevermind. I lightly melt away, ring the bell, step into the elevator, and manage to save my last bits of concealer and mascara in the reflection of the metal door. Then the elevator doors open. As rickety as the elevator initially seems, so palatial is where it leads. What a mansion. Everything is open, white, has a glass roof, and in the middle stands a large white table with roses and candles. I quickly look at the table cards and guess what? I'm very nearly sitting next to Miss Meis.

. After some short chit chats with the other ladies from the press, we sit down. A brief explanation follows and here she comes. The grand entrance of Sylvie. In a beautiful outfit chosen by her stylist and bestie Danie. I'm especially a fan of her Saint Laurent poppy lipstick. She opens the lunch with a short speech about her collection for Hunkemöller upcoming November. A collection with a lot of lace, vintage pinkand super chic outfits in royal dark blue. All inspired by New York and that's why she's on the island. Not just for this press day, but especially for theïphotoshoot taking place over the next three days. She calls this trip and this collection her. dream come true . And with those words, we raise our glasses.. On the menu is salad and sushi. Sylvie focuses on the sashimi.

Hunkemöller provides the appropriate lingerie food as you can see,. she says laughing after a huge plate of raw fish is served in front of her., She pokes at some pieces, but she certainly doesn't skip the prosecco.

A glass should be fine, right?. And, as if she's asking for permission, I nod that it definitely can be done once. We nibble on some greens and talk about everything. About New York, about Damian, about her flight, about the collection, and alsoabout her great new love. You can tell from everything that she's completely head over heels. I enjoy it, I forget the cameras circulating around us, and it's all very relaxed. The swarm of photographers and cameramen heads upstairs. After the chill vibe, I suddenly feel a bit stressed. It's showtime!.

My very first interview. Itis about to happen. I keep my head cool and here I go. With my notebook, my own camera, and Sylvie, we head to the roof. On a stunner. of a rooftop terrace, we first take some pictures and chat further. It starts with my baby Chanel, about her cool striped suit, and then I throw out some questions. I ask her how she stays in such incredible shape. And what turns out? She exercises every day. At least an hour. She's also very enthusiastic about her website. She wants to give a very personal glimpse into her life with sylviemeis.de and writes all the pieces herself for that reason. Not like Carrie with a laptop on her lap, but on her phone amidst all her busyness. I find it impressive. She calls her collection her best ever and I must say, I am also impressed. Her favorite pieces are the kimono and a lace bodysuit with a high neck. It's all beautiful. And she is too, by the way. She radiates and is looking forward to thephotoshoot. Then the time is up. I quickly grab a macaron and walk home. What a cool afternoon this was! There I went. With extra firm curls, on extra high heels, in an extra cute dress. Totally Sylvie-proof.
