Make-up bag
Chantalle Laurent
Mrs. Laurent is the queen of stylish gay parties in Amsterdam. Everything this lady touches with her always well-groomed hands gets swing and success. Her monthly gatherings in secret bar The Butcher have become indispensable in the hipster gay scene. As an appearance, Chantalle is the girl everyone turns their head for. Not only because of her almost un-Dutch glamorous and spicy outfits, but also because of her perfect petite figure. I always find myself fascinated by her flawless makeup. I find it very exciting that I can borrow her beauty bag.
Rrr what a cute little bag I see here. This leopard Victoria’s Secret variant reveals Chantalle's taste. Upon unpacking, it immediately stands out: this lady loves eyeshadow. I find no less than five totally different boxes with very diverse brands. From Dior and Chanel to Kruidvat. I find many brushes of each a different size. The often so tough-looking Chantalle really knows how to do her makeup. A huge box sticks out of her bag, which turns out to be a (brandless) bronzer. Nice size, you can never have enough of this. A lip gloss with a mirror on it, handy indeed. I also find a cute-looking red lipstick from a brand I don't know, called Teeez. And what a relief, Chantalle has both an eyeliner (Maybelline) and a concealer (Hema). Now that my primary makeup needs are met, I can happily start playing around.
The name of Chantalle's mascara does her name justice: the Lash Stiletto from Maybelline fits perfectly with the always pump-walking party princess. The mascara also does what it promises: my lashes look like spider legs. Very nice that eyeliner, a line above my eye is typically Coco so without it feels a bit bare. But what a bummer; the concealer stick is too light, so I look somewhat like a reversed panda (too much white around the eyes). The foundation is also not my color; the witch look is starting to appear. Luckily, there's that mysterious large bronzer pot and I powder my face back to health. I almost forget those cozy eyeshadow colors, oops. I smear some pink Dior above my eyes. That cool red lipstick goes right on my face and Sexy Lexy is ready to go.
As I mentioned above, this bag gives the impression that Chantalle can do her makeup very well by herself. She has a different brush for everything (lips, cheeks, eyes) and is drowning in eyeshadow. I also notice that there are almost no makeup residues in the bag. Neat lady, that Chantalle. Nothing to criticize about this woman. You have passed with flying colors!
But, if I may nitpick a bit. Chantalle, you have so many beautiful brushes, but why don't you have sponges to apply your foundation? You’re not telling me you do this with your bare hands, are you? So off to the drugstore and then you will be the epitome of the glamorous Dutch woman.
