Make-up bag

Evelien Tomaszewski

Fashion blood flows through Evelien's lovely body. We could already see that here once. She rocks looks months before they become a trend. So her job as a fashion editor is as fitting as Coco sipping on a glass of champagne. Above those flashy outfits, Evelien always has a natural I Woke Up Like This face. No blemish or flaw in sight, how does she do it?

Evelien: “Nude is characteristic of me. I create a radiant morning skin with a good foundation and a highlighter. The latter is really my big secret. I use the Living Luminizer from RMS Beauty. I was advised this by makeup artists and it is available at Skins Cosmetics. It gives you a healthy and open look.” Hello, I want that too.

Another Chanellie. Well, my own bag really needs replacing. “I got this for free at the perfumery, ha!” Says a happy Eve. It’s a well-filled bag; every makeup essential seems to be represented at first glance. Very nice this. I see good brushes, blushes from Hema and & Other Stories and a foundation from Chanel. Hey, a mascara I don’t know yet from Helena Rubinstein, the Mystic Blacks. I estimate that this was recently released and how could it be otherwise than that Evelien has this. This woman is on top of everything. I see a YSL stick. “This is the legendary Touche Éclat from YSL, but you have that too, of course.” Oops, I don’t have that at all and I’m ashamed to admit it. Evelien explains to me that this is the product of celebs and models and that it masks imperfections and even works as a shaper. Of course, this world citizen (she worked for Vanity Fair in New York among others) Visine Original in her bag. For those who have never been to America: this product removes annoying red veins from your eyes with one drop. Literally everyone uses it. Very handy for hangovers, I can tell you. It’s banned in our own bureaucratic little country, so you can guess which souvenir was the most popular when I came back from New York. I stumble upon the Living Luminizer that Evelien mentioned. The jar looks simple and the content resembles a lip balm. Very curious if this miracle product gives me such an open look too.

I could expect this, because Evelien's skin is significantly lighter than mine: the foundation from Chanel gives me a ghostly look. So I quickly take that off. I drop some Visine in my eye and immediately look fresher. Is this secretly your secret, Eve? The brush of the HR mascara is nice. It has two sides so you can first neatly separate the lashes and then create volume with the other side. Very handy, because normally I use two mascaras for this. I use the YSL stick under my eyes and although the color isn’t quite right, I notice that the stuff applies well and is soft. The exciting moment has arrived: I apply the Living Luminizer as Eve explained to me. I start at the inner corner of my eye, a bit above my eye, cheekbones and a dab above (yes really) my lips. Lo and behold, I didn’t even use much makeup and look quite newborn.

How can I give tips to a woman like this? She has introduced me to really nice products that I might have known existed (or not, shhh), but had never used. Every product is right, she has the right application brushes and also knows the tricks. So a tip would be misplaced with Evelien, but I’m very curious how a bright lipstick or a nice color eyeshadow would look on her. Will you do that for me once, please?
