Designer pieces for a bargain

I always think I'm privileged because I get to surf netaporter.com for half an hour a day ‘by virtue of my position’. But now I heard from a friend who works at a large law firm that they also order quite a bit there. What am I saying; boxes full of vacation outfits are being delivered. A little Prada is tossed on top of the stacks of legal documents and colleagues are asked for their opinions.

Since I can't assume that you all have oceans of time, I made a preliminary selection. I could immediately wander around for half an hour longer on the boss's time, ha.

My three tips:

1. Choose a statement piece

Especially now that it's affordable, it's fun to do something ‘crazy’. Go all out with color, shape, or print.

2. Grab those standout shoes

Of course, for the full amount, you'd prefer to invest in something you wear every day, but for a soft price, you still want to have such a stylish heel. It elevates every outfit.

3. Opt for the both-and dress

The danger with the standout item is the there-you-have-it-in-her-bright-yellow-dress effect. Make sure you can easily transform the item into a summer dress or office outfit by throwing a dark jacket over it.
