The result: Michiel naked with only a loosely draped towel around his divine body to keep his noble parts out of sight. Towel Series
The idea for the Towel Series came about when Mario Testino spontaneously snapped his good friend Kate Moss backstage at a shoot while she was walking around in a bathrobe and still had a towel in her hair. “I had just started with Instagram and decided to capture and post this moment,” Testino said. Undoubtedly, this earned the top photographer quite a few likes, and so he continued with the behind-the-scenes photos with stunning results. “The op de kiek zette, terwijl zij in badjas liep en nog een handdoek in haar haren had. “Ik was toen net begonnen met Instagram en besloot dit moment vast te leggen en te posten,” aldus Testino. Ongetwijfeld leverde dit de topfotograaf aardig wat likes op en dus bleef hij doorgaan met de achter-de-schermen foto’s met beeldschoon resultaat. “De Towel Series is a private club. I choose very deliberately who I photograph for this and it is only my point of view. No one else has a say in it.”
