Finally the perfect men's gift

Next week is Valentine's Day. And even though some of us (hi Lies) don't participate at all, it's still a nice occasion to give a little gift to the one you love.

Now I find that choosing an original men's gift has a difficulty factor that is equivalent to calculating the square of 37. Just to give you an idea. Socks are so boring, I can just buy that nice bottle of vodka too, I've already given that sweater a few times, and my beloved has been wearing the same scent for 25 years.

Now I believe that loyalty is a character trait that should be cherished, but when it comes to perfumes, I do want to push my husband a bit towards a slightly unfaithful lifestyle. I've taken home so many samples, but he literally turned up his nose at them.

Now I've found something he can't resist. Bvlgari Man in Black. That's a hit ten times over.

  1. Bvlgari is originally Greek but now reigns from Rome, our favorite city.
  2. The scent is a translation of classic Roman stories into a contemporary perfume. From Vulcanus, the Roman god of fire and protector of blacksmiths, who forged masterpieces from antiquity on the island of Stromboli. My beloved happens to be a fan of classical history, and we have been very happy together on Stromboli. Otherwise, just watch (well, I mean just watch, it lasts six hours) the movie La Meglio Gioventù and you'll want to go there too.
  3. Bvlgari Man in Black has a hint of neo-dandyism of the modern man and a strong dose of primal power mixed with a confident personality.
  4. Man in Black is one of the few men's perfumes that also uses tuberose; an ingredient that is mainly used in women's fragrances. So I can also use it for when I feel particularly powerful and primal.
  5. The scent is also referred to by connoisseurs as ‘criminally seductive’.
  6. The bottle symbolizes the volcanic stones of Stromboli and the Aeolian Islands and brings back beautiful memories for me.
  7. In addition to an eau de parfum, there is also a shampoo and a shower gel, an aftershave balm, a shaving soap, and a deodorant, so my gift problem is solved for the time being.
