Move over Bar Refaeli, here is Valerie van der Graaf
The face of lingerie brand Passionata was Bar Refaeli (you know, one of the many shapely exes of Leonardo DiCaprio) but she has now been replaced by a new model. A Dutch one even; Valerie van der Graaf. We immediately grabbed her by her bra for a good conversation woman to woman.
You have already done a lot in terms of modeling work. The cover of foreign Vogues and Sports Illustrated Swimwear and now you are following in the footsteps of Bar Refaeli.
I already knew the campaigns from the London subway. Passionata is very playful, young, sexy and has a lot of energy. The brand really suits me and I am very happy with it.
Seems so difficult to pose in lingerie…
Actually, I find it easier than in clothes. You literally have little on your body. With clothes, you have to make sure everything fits and falls well. Now I have more to deal with my own body.
Speaking of your body, what do you do to stay in shape?
I watch my food and I swim and do pilates. I'm not very good with those weights in the gym. Did you know that I don't even know a model with an eating problem? Everyone is very healthy and we exercise a lot. Of course, you can indulge occasionally, but everything in moderation I would say.
Do you have a role model in the modeling world?
Yes, I think Lara Stone is really cool. Dutch blood of course, right?.
You have already achieved quite a bit but there is undoubtedly still a dream.
I would really love to do the cover of the Italian Vogue. I think it's really cool that they still use real models for the covers and not celebrities.
Dutch models are known as very down-to-earth girls who arrive on time. Do you recognize yourself in that?
Sometimes yes. The English girls are also very professional and on time. I feel like it has become very important lately that it is also very pleasant to work with you as a model. People no longer want to work with a diva.
