Ha! Another nice diary from our Bo in New York. This week: Mariah Carey, a new Chanellen child, and a whole lot of Christmas.

Look, that's nice. A handwritten note with tickets for one of the most fun events of the year: Mariah Carey's Christmas show! M.A.C Cosmetics has launched a lipstick with the queen of divas this season and was able to give away tickets for Mariah's concert. I was of course immediately hysterically excited when M.A.C's email came in. Promptly, “All I want for Christmas is you” played even louder on the speaker. This little number had been blaring through the house for days, but that just added a little extra. And then pretending you can sing.

The diva is here! At the Beacon Theatre (which is beautiful by the way), Mariah was delightfully diva, but also incredibly good on pitch. Really, I've seen the off-key YouTubes too. But tonight she sounded like old times. And luckily, besides all the Christmas songs, she also threw in some classics. Hero, Be my Baby... you know them all. Enjoying. And all of that almost from the front row.

We (Marinke and I) had to take some photos before the Christmas break. And that was in Soho. I don't know why, but every time I walk around here I feel happy. “I want to live in Soho,” I said to my fiancé when I got home. “That can be arranged,” was the answer. Only we still have to save up for about a hundred years for that. Ah, always keep dreaming. And before we move to Soho, I'll keep calmly spinning around for Dior. Just one more for the list ‘Someday, maybe.’.

My new Chanellen child! Finally, she is here. The classic, born in Paris and flown to New York via Amsterdam. I was a bit shocked by the color. Because yes, this is really red and maybe a bit pink sometimes. But I've gotten used to her. We've become thick friends. And a black one, we'll do that again with the next paycheck. Because this bag was bought with my first real salary. Something I had planned years ago: as soon as I could save money for a bag, I would buy a Chanel. And that has happened. Look at her shine.

It's Christmas Eve and there is no snow. There's not even a need for a coat, it's so warm. So I'm sitting on the terrace with Dutch visitors. We start dutifully with coffee, but quickly swap the cup for a glass of wine. Sancerre on the terrace of my favorite Sant Ambroeus, the place where I take all my Dutch company in the summer. But this year, we can do that in the middle of winter too!

Oh, look at our Bloebloe. We have a new wolf blanket because the old one was taken by Blue. But I have a feeling that this bear blanket will also end up in Mr. B's crate sooner than expected.

For a very nice project, I bought 20 balloons for our roof. It was a fairy tale. And further, I won't say anything about it. But it was beautiful.

It's Christmas! And since we have someone in the house who will probably knock over and/or nibble on a tree in no time, we don't have a tree this year and we're not flying back for family dinners. Ah, we have a tree in our park, mom sends me gifts from AUrate and together with Blue, we watch the movie Bears. I find it very Christmasy and consider myself a rich person.
