With my look of the day, the choice of my shoes is decisive for the rest. How does that work? Very simple: first I look in my agenda and determine what kind of day it will be, then think about which shoes fit that. The rest of my outfit naturally follows from that.
Now everyone who reads my pieces knows that comfort when it comes to shoes is not my priority, whatever the trend is. I know that model flip-flops in various variations are terrible in de mode , but I can't and don't want to get used to them.

As well as huge platforms that, in my opinion, quickly evoke the association with an orthopedic shoe, as well as all Dr. Scholl's variations, brrrrrrr! Wearability and convenience; okay fine, but I assure you that this season there are plenty of other and more fun ways to do it. For example like this:
The gladiator sandal
Flat and openworked. The higher, the better. Of course, you wear them in the high version with a slightly shorter skirt length or with shorts. The less high version is especially suitable for pants or jeans where the ankle is visible.
The block heel
Yes indeed, completely back. Thanks to the seventies. And to be honest: it's definitely easier to walk in than pumps with stiletto heels. Wear them, for example, under pants with wide legs or a midi-length skirt.
The mule
The mule comes in many shapes and sizes, with or without a heel, but in any case, they always have an open back. The flat version works well in combination with a tunic or other hippie/boho outfit. Mules with a high heel are worn with narrow pants or a simple straight dress.
The sneaker
They are no longer to be overlooked and this season we especially see low sneakers in white or multicolour, but they are also available in slip-on versions. Even in combination with a skirt in 2015, the sneaker is completely accepted.
The flat shoe with pointed toe
Of course, the ballerina remains a classic, but this variant is just a bit more elegant. Think Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Wear it with an LBD.
The wedge with platform
Not my favorite, but they are hot this summer. The somewhat clunky way of walking that this model causes is personally a bit off-putting, but the big advantage is that at 1.64 meters I look a lot taller.
The espadrille
The espadrille comes with a slightly raised sole or wedge and you often see them in fantasy versions with appliqués, bicolour or in fun stripes. Ideal for high summer and beach due to the airy material. You can combine them in all styles in different ways.
The shoe with fringes
Usually, fringes are made of suede and you see them as decoration around the ankle (with both high heels and flat sandals). The inspiration for this comes from the bohemian look, but it also offers combination possibilities for the rock chic style.
