Pop-up editor Queen of Jet Lags
THIS IS HOW YOU GET THE COOLEST INSTA ACCOUNT TOO
Do you also look so enviously at that Instagram feed of Queen of Jet Lags, Lizzy van der Ligt and Anna Nooshin? You can do that too. If you listen carefully to what Noor has to say.
1. Always use daylight
This is really the most important. Lighter photos are easier to edit and you look better in them. Additionally, light photos are a bit ‘easier on the eyes’, which makes people click ‘like’ faster.
2. Take photos from above
I shoot all my detailed photos or small still lifes that I make of, for example, my breakfast from above. This way you get the prettiest picture and it gives a clearer image.
3. Maintain the same style
Think in advance about what characterizes you and your account. For me, it's photos of myself in an outfit, but I also regularly post a shot from the airplane (I'm not called Queen of Jet Lags for nothing) and a nice photo of the Amsterdam canals or a flower stall you will often see from me. People appreciate that familiarity. That's why I also recommend using the same filters so that your landing page on Instagram radiates the same feeling. All photos together should also blend nicely with each other.
4. And then the editing apps
This is of course the secret of the trade. I hope you won't tell anyone, because I can't live without these apps.
Afterlight: every blogger I know can't live without this. I mainly edit my aerial photos with this app, those pink skyline photos are (unfortunately) not always real, but don't tell anyone, okay?
VSCO Cam: My favorite filter is F2 for outfit photos.
Facetune: Besides the fact that Facetune is known for the app where you can make the Christmas pounds disappear and make your skin look perfect, this app is also fantastic for lightening your photos, and the filters are my favorites!
5. Followers please
Don't forget to hashtag, because that will really earn you followers. And I believe that when you have a nice account, people will really find you. And post regularly, okay? Preferably every day, so your followers know what to expect.
