PRADA GOES BUDGET

About a year ago I had an hour to myself during Milan Fashion Week.

I did my double annual routine walking down the Corso Venezia. I bought something delicious at the deli on the corner for later on, little boots at the children’s shoe store and oeps, there I was suddenly standing inside the Prada flagship store.

One of the perks of my already okay job is that some brands give me a deduction stimulating me to browse and keep an open mind when looking at bags. And if you really want to reel me in you tell me these bags are exclusively made and the only place in the whole wide world you can buy them is in this store.

Long story short; I left the store with three bags. I repeat: three bags. One for my darling mother who always lends us a helping hand at home, one for my love who’s own laptop bag was worn down and one for me. That’s just the kind of person I am.

In spite of the deduction it was a considerable amount that I slide through the machine and feeling a little guilty I gave every homeless person I met some money for an ice cream.

Now I have good but dangerous news. Prada is going to scale down its prices. At any rate they are launching an affordable line of designer bags. They hope to drill up their turnover as it was down by 40% last year.

These affordable bags (starting at around €1000 I believe) have to blow some wind in the company sails.

I’d say; you know what you have to do. If only for Miuccia.

Go there and buy. And don’t forget the homeless.
