Prada for a bargain

A year or so ago, I had an hour to myself during Milan Fashion Week.

I did my biennial stroll on the Corso Venezia. Some treats at the deli on the corner for the evening, kids’ boots at that nice children's shoe store and oops, there I was suddenly in the flagship store of Prada.

Because one of the advantages of my not unpleasant job is that you get discounts at some brands, I looked decisively and especially powerfully at the bags. And if you really want to pull me over the line, you say that these bags are made exclusively for this branch and are not available anywhere else in the world.

Long story short. I left the store with three bags. I repeat; three bags. One for my dear mother who always helps us so incredibly much to keep things moving at home, one for my beloved who had a somewhat worn laptop bag and one for myself. That's just how I am.

Despite the discount, it was still a considerable amount that I quickly spent there and out of pure guilt, I also gave some money to all the homeless people on the street and those I encountered later that day for an ice cream.

Now there is good and dangerous news. Prada is going to lower its prices. At least; a more affordable bag line is coming. They are doing this in an attempt to boost revenues because last year the Prada company had forty percent less turnover.

These more affordable bags (they start at a rough €1000 I believe) are supposed to give the company some financial wind in its sails again.

I would say; you know what you have to do. Even if it's just for Miuccia.

Go forth and buy. And don't forget the homeless on the way back.
