Does garlic make you sexy?
So, and now for a little news in the category of “you really wouldn't have thought so.” Because while every sensible person stays away from garlic when there's a chance of kissing parties that same evening, new research shows that we should actually do the opposite.
At least, the man. A study from Appetite, which conducts research on food and drink across various fields, shows that after consuming a big bite of garlic, the male body odor is suddenly found to be much more attractive by women. Say whuuuuut?
The researchers had one half of a group of men eat a cheese sandwich with a lot of garlic, and the other half a regular cheese sandwich. They were asked not to use deodorant, not to smoke, and not to spray perfume. Then, a kind of cotton pad was placed under the armpits of all the men to capture sweat and body odor for 12 hours. A week later, the exact same experiment was conducted, but this time the non-garlic eaters did eat garlic and vice versa.
Then the women came into play and they were asked to smell the cotton pads and rate them on “attractive” and “masculine.” I want to pause for a moment to say that this must be the absolute grossest job ever. Anyway, they consistently rated the garlic eaters as more masculine and attractive than the non-garlic eaters and tadaaa: there you have the result. There were more studies that confirmed this, and the conclusion is: eating garlic makes you irresistible as a man.
Though with the side note that you have to eat quite a lot of it before you get the desired result, but men; you know what you have to do.
