– the houses of KLM –

I used to always think that
the blue houses of KLM were reserved for the Rich of the World. It is of course also a bit true, because you not only have to book a business class, you also have to make an intercontinental trip. Now I have indeed made some intercontinental flights (yay!), like last year Australia, this year New York and at the end of the year I'm going to Cape Town, but by then my credit card had already been drained so it really stayed at economy. Still, I kept hoping for a blue house, because it radiates enormous luxury, wanderlust – because you have to make quite a few flights to be able to make a row – and attitude – because business class says that you are usually high up.

Last February I got to go to New York. Did you know, because I really my Instagram filled it up and on the site we also made quite a fuss. But the fun part was that I sat next to May on the plane and if you sit next to May, you have company. If you are also blessed with a nice stewardess, then you can of course do a simple calculation. No, we didn't get business class seats, but we did get a house. Sneakily tucked into a spit bag. Lies, May and and I felt quite unwelcome for the first quarter of an hour. Everyone was running. Everyone was shouting. When we realized after a quarter of an hour that it was all just fuss about nothing, we decided to go along with the feeling. So yes, we also went slightly hysterical backstage. The result is that we have Tom Pecheux on film, Peter Gray told the hair looks, and all the models were very eager to say something for the camera. And the result is even that after filming everything backstage, we also managed to catch a bit of slept the whole way and were therefore somewhat disappointed that there was no house waiting for them. I on the other hand was very happy because when I got home, I felt no jet lag, but a feeling of wealth. The tip is; stay awake, even if the flight takes painfully long AND look for a bit of coziness with the stewardess or the steward of course. Double the fun.
