Chantal versus Sylvie

They are both blonde, attractive, 36 years old, and Dutch glory on German TV. We are of course talking about Sylvie Meis and Chantal Janzen. Since this week, the ladies shine every Friday night for a million viewers at our Eastern neighbors. Chantal Janzen presents The Voice Kids on SAT1 and Sylvie Meis can be seen as the host of Let’s Dance on RTL. The shows are scheduled directly opposite each other and are each other's major competitors. The big question is: who will win the battle for the German souls?

Round 1: Sylvie vs Chantal 1 – 0

Chantal Janzen achieved good ratings with around 4 million viewers during the first weeks of her German television adventure. Last Friday, when it Let’s Dance had its first broadcast of the season, it dropped The Voice Kids back to 2.75 million, while Sylvie got 4.8 million viewers. In the first round, La Meis gives the Dutch musical star a significant beating.

Round 2: Sylvie vs Chantal 0 – 1

But this is of course just the beginning. Because while Chantal's channel has already communicated that they will use her for many more programs, the future for Sylvie at RTL is much less clear. When this season Let’s Dance is over, there are no new agreements in the agenda. The boldly announced Oscars report that she would make for the German channel has already been canceled, and a previously mentioned fashion program is off the table. If there is one thing Sylvie is known for, it is her fighting spirit, so we can't wait to see what round 3 will look like. To be continued…
