YOUR SKIN IS YOUR HOME
– the dangers of the sun –
As soon as the sun shines, we all hop en masse to the terrace to stick our noses in the sun. At home we think (yes, I speak in plural because I don't think I'm the only one): let me applying. We obediently do it only to never think about it again after a few drinks.
I can tell you: after watching the video below, you will diligently apply sunscreen every two hours and you will definitely sit under a little parasol, still smeared, between 12:00 and 15:00. Those sun rays are really dangerous. They not only make you ten years older and your skin looser, no, UV radiation also penetrates deep into the skin, which does provide a nice tan, but can ultimately also lead to skin cancer. You don't see that right away, but after a few years you think: oops. In capital letters. Today we take a moment to reflect on it because it is National Skin Cancer Day.
This video was made by artist Thomas Leveritt. He went out with his camera for La Roche-Posay to show people the damage their skin has suffered from the sun, and it is quite shocking. I find it horrifically confronting, so I warn you. But hey, admit it, it does wake you up a bit, right?
