French manicure: yes or no?

French manicure has a strong connotation for me with long and square plastic nails and overly tanned (or even orange) hands above. So if you ask me if this is still possible, I say no. It has never been possible even. French manicure on real nails is already more acceptable for me, but my beauty blood doesn't flow faster because of it. So I went looking for cool variants that are also très vogue. Oh yes, I would definitely hire a nail stylist to save yourself hours of fiddling and frustration.
