The newest hotspot in Amsterdam: The Duchess

Amsterdam is getting more and more fun, and now there's yet another new omg-we-have-to-go-here place. Namely, The Duchess, the restaurant of the already legendary W Hotel. And extra good news for me, because it's just a short stumble from my house.

I've been living in the most touristy part of the city for 8 years. Namely, just behind the Dam, full of hostels, hotels, and swarms of annoying tourists on bikes. Never did people want to come to ‘1012’ (the postcode and the way many Amsterdammers supposedly refer to this corrupt piece of the city), but now times have changed. With the arrival of numerous fun restaurants and cafés and now also the W Hotel with its amazing restaurant The Duchess. Last Thursday it was grandly opened and suddenly very hip and happening Amsterdam went to 1012 without a murmur.

Except for me. Yes really. Deadlines and busyness meant that I was glued to my MacBook and couldn't sip champagne or strut in heels and dresses. But you can bet that I'm going to check it out a lot in the coming time because man oh man does it look absolutely stunning. So, if you're visiting the capital soon, you know where to find me.
