DELICIOUS MEN
FOR A GOOD CAUSE
I told you earlier that October is the k-month Not only because of the weather, but especially because we all pause and become aware of that k-disease. That's right, cancer.
Besides breast cancer, there is another woman-unfriendly variant: ovarian cancer, or actually any form of gynecological cancer. A silent killer, because you don't notice it and by the time you find out, it's often too late. “Indeed, an incredibly awful cancer,” said Anouk Smulders during a lunch she organized to raise awareness among women about this disease and of course to raise money for research and prevention.
At that particular lunch was Freek Koster, founder and director of Touché Models and Future Faces. Freek himself overcame cancer twenty years ago and decided to do something for this cause. And what makes women happy? Men. So he brought in his most handsome boys and shot a delightful men's calendar, which I think is the pinnacle of emancipation.
The entire proceeds (and you don't hear that often) go to the Ruby and Rose foundation which is committed to that k-c. Perfect gift for your girlfriends and you also support a good cause. Maybe even your cause, but let's not hope for that.
The calendar will be available soon. Check rubyandrose.com for all the information.
