this is how you deal with it

It's happening again soon: the Victoria's Secret show. Instagram is slowly but surely filling up with photos of super tight Angels and models who are going to look even tighter in their skin, and you watch it all with envy. For those who, like me, always feel down when seeing so much beauty and splendor, here is a guide to get you through it.

Go exercise

Of course, you’re not going to work out with a personal trainer for two hours eight times a week like the Angels do, but a few workouts can already help. Then you can tell yourself that you are indeed doing something and that if you really wanted to, you could look just like them. Really.

Emphasize your joy of life

If there’s one thing that the US girls shouldn’t do, it’s to have long dinners and hang out in bars for hours. And let that be exactly what makes you so happy. So reserve tables at your favorite restaurants, gather friends for wild party nights, and be glad that you can just live your life the way you want without the inhumane pressure of parading in your underwear in front of the whole world.

Shut yourself off from it

Delete Instagram, delete Facebook, delete the whole internet right away. And if that’s a step too far, at least stop following the models who participate. It’s just not fun for anyone.

Look at the other side

And what I mean is: realize that there are very few men who enjoy having such a hard and tight body lying in bed. And that there are very few women who have such a body. You are looking at exceptions, not the norm.

Look at it realistically

Such a body doesn’t just fall from the sky, it requires intense training and a heavy diet. So let go of those frustrations of “oh I want that too” because you really don’t. At most for a moment, but that’s not how it works. So order another sandwich and look forward to that bottle of wine, because they make life much more enjoyable than a narrow hip circumference. Really.
