God help me: I'm going to exercise again

When I started at Amayzine, I was quite averse to green smoothies, boxing sessions, and the gym was my biggest enemy. But there was Jet, who taught me how to make smoothies and even managed to get me to do “Destination Killerbody” with her for three months., extensively documented here on Amayzine.

And against all expectations, I actually enjoyed it. I still didn’t have a model body, but I stopped dining on nacho chips and I actually found boxing quite fun. When I booked a ticket to Rio around this time last year we went back to our trainer. Twice a week at 07:30, getting my ass kicked for an hour. But the trainer stopped. and so did I. Since then, I haven’t done a crunch, lunge, or burpee, and you can definitely tell. the time I went to work out in New York.

When I with Jet, I was throwing up from muscle pain the next day, sick, weak, and nauseous walking through the city. My old, broken body didn’t know what hit it. And that was a bit of a reality check, although I absolutely hate that expression. Anyway, long story short: something had to happen again, so I cautiously texted our old trainer to ask if he felt like getting started again. “I’m doing great, training hard again. I have space for you on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 07:30. Shall we start next week?” YES YES YES! The thing is, once I start exercising, I actually find it quite nice. But I absolutely do not have the discipline to go to the gym by myself, and the only way to get me moving is to have a big strong man waiting for me who gets angry if I don’t show up. And that’s what it’s going to be now, every Tuesday and every Thursday at 07:30.

“That is of course ridiculously early and I’m now saying things like: ”Yeah, but then you start the day off so nicely,” I’ll bet you that every time I get out of bed, I’m cursing and yelling. “HOW DID I THINK THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA.” That’s how it’s going to be. But I will go, and I’m really looking forward to it. After last year, I’m more realistic and I know this isn’t going to get me on the Victoria’s Secret catwalk, but boxing clears my head and starting the day healthy (yes I said that) has the effect on me that I reach for donuts, chocolate, cookies, and chips less often throughout the day, “because that would be a waste of that hour this morning.”.

So, tomorrow is the first day. I expect not to be able to walk or bike from the pain on Wednesday, so whoever can drive me from home to the office and back, I would greatly appreciate it.“
