Going to a party by yourself
So there is a party that you have been looking forward to for weeks , but a day before, the friend you were supposed to go with suddenly cancels. Super annoying of course, but nothing can be done about it. Alone, how are you going to that party now? Other friends have made other plans in the meantime, so there's nothing left to do but not go. Right? Hahaaaaaa no of course not, you’re not going to let your own fun depend on the plans of others, come on. You’re just going to that party alone and that’s how you handle it., The extra bonus is if you are single, who knows what fun you might encounter that evening.
First, you’re going to do a little homework. Is there a Facebook event? Maybe you’ll run into other acquaintances on the attendee list. Or a hashtag? Check Instagram and Twitter, you never know. But even if there’s no one on the list you specifically know, there’s still plenty possible. Amsterdam, for example, may be a so-called big city, but secretly it’s a really small village
and you always run into acquaintances . So have a glass of wine beforehand to muster up some courage and then go to your party. Because I’m sure you’ll always run into acquaintances. Greet everyone warmly and cheerfully, ask about their ups and downs, and you’ll see that you’ll have a nice conversation surprisingly quickly. Offer a drink, that always works well. As a woman alone, it’s even easier, because men are always waiting for a chat. The extra bonus is if you are single, who knows what fun you might encounter that evening.. throw yourself on the dance floor and just have an amazing time by yourself.
What also always works great but might not be entirely responsible to promote is going outside for a cigarette. I know I know, smoking will kill you, but hey, can we also have a little advantage from this money-consuming addiction? Because in the smoking area (if it’s not too dirty) or outside on the street, it’s secretly always the coziest. And “Can I have a light?” is still the best icebreaker ever.
And then of course you have your phone. Is there no one around to chat with? Pretend you need to send an extremely important message or text a friend that you feel a bit uncomfortable. By the way, I’m forgetting the most important thing, the bar! Drink bravely (if you’re not that way without alcohol) and throw yourself on the dance floor and just have an amazing time by yourself. And if it really doesn’t work and.
is just not fun , go home. It can be that simple., So there is a party that you have been looking forward to for weeks, but a day before, the friend you were supposed to go with suddenly cancels. Super annoying of course, but nothing can be done about it. Alone….
