The Little Black dress is hugely iconic and has certainly earned its stripes. So launching a product called Little Black primer seems really exciting to me, but you have to be very convinced of its effectiveness. Estée Lauder I dared to take it on. And I really dare to take that test too.
What does it promise?
Estée Lauder describes the Little Black Primer as a little black dress. It is indispensable in every woman's wardrobe, guarantees a flawless result, and is ideal for any occasion. Now I do expect a bit more from a Little Black Primer, and it delivers. It is the base of your mascara. It gives a slight hint of color, works as a primer to make the mascara stand out even more and provides a waterproof topcoat when you apply it over your mascara.
This does it:
Josselin: “The fact that there are already quite a few lbd's hanging in my closet means that I am definitely open to something new in this area. And that Kendall is the face of Estée Lauder and this was her first launch, also put me in a great mood. So I took on the test with this Little Black Primer. What struck me is that it has a small, firm brush. It really works as a primer. You can use it as mascara, but it doesn't give a huge volume boost and the color isn't very intense either. As a primer, however, it works really well. I then use the Sumptuous Infinite mascara. Now it always adds a hint of volume, but with the primer, that effect is increased about three times. And if you use the primer after the mascara, it becomes indeed waterproof and I find that extremely handy. One small point is that you have to apply the primer immediately after your mascara. Because if your lashes are hard, it’s difficult to run the brush through your lashes again. As a primer, this one from Estée works perfectly, as mascara on its own a bit less. But it lives up to its name, and this is a great first launch with Kendall as the face.”
