Sailing on a boat? Dancing at a big party or selling stuff in a park? We asked our friends from the show and editors how they spend this royal day.

“I’ll first check out the Haarlem Orange Square, probably with a bottle of wine in the stroller. Around four o'clock, we’ll drive to Rotterdam and fly to Ibiza for a royal afterparty.”

“For the first time in years, I’m going to let loose during King’s Night. Given the weather forecasts, that’s not such a bad plan at all. We’re going to the Rush Hour party on the Overtoom in Amsterdam that starts at 5 o'clock. The tickets sold out within 2 hours. They say they play nice disco music and only 300 people can get in. Depending on how fun that gets, I’ll adjust my schedule for the next day accordingly. Either I’ll go for a little walk through the city with girlfriends or I’ll join my friend Jop on the KOEL boat that will sail through the canals.”

“On King’s Night, I’m throwing a party called Fissa x Vrijmibodisco at Bar Italia in Amsterdam. The next day, another party, then I’m organizing a brunch (called Eggsluts) at restaurant Nacional on Leidseplein. After that, I’ll head into the city and hop from party to party, ending up at the Marktkantine with Joris Voorn.”

“It’s been the same for years. My girlfriends and I meet at my place, I live in the Jordaan. Everyone brings food and ingredients to make cocktails. My neighbors always have fried eggs or poffertjes, so something is always bought there. At home, we lay a good foundation, fill bottles for our bags, and head out. And this time, I’m also bringing an umbrella, by the way.”

“I’m supposed to go sailing and then take a little walk through the city. I haven’t found a good outfit yet, by the way, I find it difficult because of the bad weather we’re likely to have.”

“I absolutely hate King’s Day and always try to be abroad. If that doesn’t work, I’ll have my annual clothing ironing session in front of the TV. True story.”

“Besides my own birthday and gift night, King’s Day is my favorite day of the year. I start the day on a boat and then see where the day takes me. There’s a disco party in the Bilderdijkpark and something fun next to restaurant Le Coq, but it could also very well be that everything goes differently. But anyway, I’m really bubbling with excitement.”

“I think we’ll just enjoy ourselves with friends in Vondelpark. Our little boy can just walk, so it’s nice if we’re somewhere he can walk around. Furthermore, we’re just going to have a great time together and there will probably be homemade vodka and sangria on the table.”
