This is what you buy

in foreign supermarkets

Put me in a Carrefour, Whole Foods or another super large Intermarché and you are at least an hour away from me. If we are by car, you are out of luck, because the back seat will definitely be filled with food that needs to come home. Granola, energy bars, cans of the tastiest tomatoes from Italy...

I did a round on the editorial team: what do you always buy in the supermarket abroad?

Liesbeth is really looking forward to liver pâté from a container that you can buy in the supermarket in Italy. The brand is “i Crostini” and the right one is: paté di fegatini. A layer on a bruschetta or a normal toast and you are in heaven. “ Maybe I have also scraped the container out with a spoon once.

For example, I really like to buy a can of marron (very rarely available here in special supermarkets): chestnut puree. So incredibly delicious as a dessert, together with a bit of fromage blanc.

I won't leave England without the Darjeeling tea from Fortnum & Mason.

In Whole Foods, you often find a large assortment of KIND. This brand has very good energy bars and granola. And because of the latter, my heart starts racing.

We stay in Whole Foods, because I also like to buy bags of mixed nuts, seeds, and superfoods there. In the same aisle, you often find rows of energy and green bars. The Clif Bar is my favorite. Or the Greens+ Omega3 chia bar.

Then we walk through to the cooling section in the same store, because there you will find a wide selection of coconut yogurt. So Delicious is amayzine, really.

May-Britt buys in Italy always olive oil and bouillon cubes, because they make the tastiest ones there. And in France, she buys soaps (savon Marseille), honey, and if possible, a bunch of garlic with some lavender sticks stuck in between.

Coco lived in Spain for a while and often bought gazpacho in glass bottles there. Maybe even better than when you make it yourself.

I always check the cosmetics section in France as well. I don't often come across Pantene shampoo in the Netherlands and I seriously think it smells the best ever. Come on, a few bottles in the cart.
