4 x energy bar test

Put me in a Whole Foods and you'll be rid of me the whole day. It's just that my suitcase is already packed full of clothes and sneakers, otherwise I would have stocked up quite a bit. But well, I know myself, that would all end up with a thousand other jars on my countertop and would ultimately be used only once and then (because it's expired) thrown away. Buttt, the energy bars are now all quietly going into the basket to eat during this trip. Yesterday it was so bloody hot that Liesbeth and I settled in the shade of Central Park where I tested 4 energy bars together with her. A foodie and a non-foodie, so. And they were quite in agreement, I can tell you. Here are our results, with also the exact amount of calories per bar. After all, we are in America.

Rise – Blueberry Coconut – 190 calories

Outer packaging

A tropical package, light blue and white with a large coconut. Seems delicious to me right away.

The bar itself

A dark bar (which you wouldn't expect), but that's of course due to the blueberries. It's a bit sticky, but you often have that with raw bars.

Taste

Very tasty, you can also really taste the raisins and I love that. Even for non-foodie Liesbeth, who doesn't necessarily like coconuts, this is a very tasty bar.

Outer packaging

Nice cheerful orange color. This brand has many different flavors and thus also different colors. They look a bit like the Rawbite that you can also buy in the Netherlands.

The bar itself

Very light, a nice texture and not too soft.

Taste

This bar consists only of cashews and dates. Delicious. Not too sticky, not too sweet and you really taste the pieces of cashew. Great bar for in between. Definitely our favorite.

Raw Revolution – Chocolate Coconut Bliss – 240 calories

Raw, that means no heat has been applied, but that it's mainly about compressed ingredients.

Outer packaging

It's a tough bar. Can you say that? As if you immediately blast off with energy when you eat it.

The bar itself

Very dark, I don't know exactly what color, but it doesn't look particularly appetizing. It's very sticky, so it's better to pop it straight into your mouth.

Taste

Or not. It's not really a flavor to call it. No chocolate and no coconut. While that's such an insane combo.

Outer packaging

Nice, light green color, fresh, small bar, can easily fit in your pocket.

The bar itself

Very light yellow with small seeds. Looks quite tasty.

Taste

Well, what can we say about this. Ant and ant sweet. The bar consists of all small chia seeds and they haven't been crushed yet, so that means that happens in your mouth. Between your teeth to be precise. So you have long enjoyment from it. Yuck.
