Why I am a festival queen

Oh dear boys and girls, the festival season is in full swing again and that makes me very happy. My entourage and I try to ‘catch’ just about every festival. Because although YOLO is so incredibly 2014, the essence of this term is still very applicable in (my) 2015. Let me explain to you why festivals are the best parties.

On time in bed

I can be quite neurotic when it comes to sleep it. If I deviate from my usual eight hours of sleep per night, I am quite upset the next day. Both physically and mentally. The best thing about a festival, in my opinion, is that you are home by 01:00 AM at the latest. And you've been dancing all day or doing whatever, so that broken body falls asleep in no time. Wonderful.

No hangover

Or well, saying no hangover is a bit exaggerated. But if you just get into bed at a reasonable time, you will definitely sleep off that buzz.

Or: still time for something else

For the night owls among us: if you are home from your daytime party before midnight, you can immediately head to the night party in the city. Or if you've met a nice lady or gentleman during the festival, you can just add a date afterwards. Saves a lot of texting and hassle, don't you think?

Going over the top is allowed

This is what I find so incredibly nice about festivals; you are not quickly overdressed. I prefer to always make it a big dressing up and styling event (I mean during regular going out), but this can sometimes lead to strange looks. At a festival, however, the general rule is: the crazier and more decorated, the better. So hats, body chains, and other nice accessories can all come out of the closet. Yehes!

Comfy shoes are allowed too

And how wonderful it is that you can just wear your comfy boots or sneakers to a festival. Of course under that sparkling outfit. Because usually, the second reason for wanting to leave (being tired is number one) during going out is that I have pain in my feet because I just had to wear those twelve centimeters of pure torture.

All your friends together

Somehow, I rarely manage to get all my lovely people together during a night out. But when there is a festival, they are there in a flash, because rarely does anyone want to miss that. #LOOOVE.

Public transport still runs

That's also a little advantage, you know. Just take the metro, tram, or bus home for less than three euros. I remain a Dutchie, right?.
