Look like a Parisienne
I have already given you some tips about what is good to eat before you start a workout without things coming up during the warm-up. quoted a few times from my favorite book of 2014: ‘How to be Parisian’. It remains my favorite in 2015 too, because my pieces just keep going. The Parisian woman is always au naturel. And the fact that they all wake up au naturel, with their hair perfectly styled without a blow dryer and thus not looking in a mirror is a big lie. Au naturel is the result of hard work and has a bit to do with genetics. Actually, you can also achieve that Parisian ‘au naturellement’ on your skin. How am I going to tell you now.
1. Wear almost nothing
Okay, that's not entirely true, because otherwise this post would be over. But your skin should look as natural as possible. Freckles can be seen, and if you blush, that rosy cheek can definitely come out. So you don't have to plaster your entire face. That's why French ladies don't use foundation, but rather a BB cream to keep it all a bit lighter.
2. Prepare it
Instead of that foundation, there is a whole range of products that you can use. It only works if you have completely cleaned your skin. Ha, I told you that yesterday, cleansing is the code word. You have to treat your face like a canvas. You only work well on a clean cloth. Let's believe those Parisiennes, because quite a few successful artists come from that corner.
3. The application plan
The preparation steps continue with a good moisturizer. Then it's time for the concealer that paints away all the bags under the eyes and imperfections, followed by using a BB cream. The latter only if it's really necessary. If not, it's better to skip it. If you really, really can't live without foundation, mix it with your day cream to achieve the most natural result.
4. Make-up
Mascara can be applied with big and thick strokes. So put a lot on both the lower and upper lashes. That accentuates the look and hides tired eyes. Red lipstick, which you could have expected, must not be missed. Especially not during a night out.
5. Nails
When you think of the Parisienne, you think of simple and chic. Maybe you're thinking of a French manicure now, but you're completely wrong. French manicure does not come from France at all, and the Parisienne doesn't understand it at all. No one wears it. If you want to be a real Parisienne, go for short, clean nails. A polish is not even necessary.
And then one more point. French ladies don't really like perfection. Do they have a gap between their teeth, bold eyebrows, or a sharp nose? They really don't care about camouflaging it. No, use it instead. It's just a sign of how beautiful you can feel without being perfect. Lovely, right?
