10 x why the iPhone 7 is unreal

Exactly on the day the new iPhone 7 was launched in the Netherlands, I dropped my rose gold 6 Plus from my hands. Biking, calling, Amsterdam, tram tracks; it turns out to be a pretty hopeless combination. But yes, you are just addicted to your phone or not.. Cracks in my screen, so cue (that’s my new word, did you catch that? Cue is the new enter and enter was the new et voilà) for a new phone.

In front of the Apple Store, there was a line as if Victoria Beckham and Stella McCartney were inside, complete with barriers and waiting routes (like at Efteling), but I went ultra-luxury a door further inside. To the headquarters of Apple, a.k.a. the phone heaven.

There I was taken to a small room to be completely updated by the Apple experts about the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. While the water dripped from my mouth, I listened to why you absolutely want this new phone. For example:

1. The camera

The camera, the camera oh guys, the camera. So those are two cameras. One has a wider lens for more panorama-like photos and the other is your regular lens. And no, you don’t have to mess around and think about which camera fits best with the photo you want to take, the iPhone does all that for you.

2. The colors

Furthermore, it seems like there’s the most beautiful filter over everything, but that’s just because every color is perfectly represented and the photo therefore gets extremely much depth. Especially the colors red, yellow, and green look bizarrely fantastic on this image.

3. Easy blur

Also something like that, you can very easily blur part of the photo. You just indicate that you want something sharp in the foreground, but the background a bit blurry and then it just comes out perfectly. And you know what? The phone prints it with the blurry, and with the sharp background. Just in case you change your mind. Isn’t that just unreal, so amazing as that is?

4. The sound

Oh guys, the sound. It can now simply be listened to in stereo, because there are two speakers. There are new ringtones, but even your old ones sound so much better.

5. The grip

Your touch button at the bottom is a bit, how shall I put it, rougher and has a bit more resistance. You can actually set it in strength. One wants it a bit firmer than the other. By the way, it can now be operated with gloves, so perfect news for Karl Lagerfeld. And even Choupette will be able to Instagram so much easier now.

6. The screen

I’m not a nerd so I don’t really know how to explain this, but Apple has come up with something that gives the screen a bit of resistance when that’s fun. For example, when you play a game and you press the shoot button, you feel something move under your fingers. As if something is really happening there. How cool?

7. Water resistant

You still can’t go swimming with it (but you can with the new Apple Watch by the way), but a heavy rain shower or an unexpected dive in the toilet can be handled. If it happens, tap it a few times on your hand with the charging port down so that the water can run out and let it rest for six hours. Optionally, you can blow a cold hairdryer on it (no hot hairdryer), but especially don’t charge it. Then it should all be fine.

8. The flash

It’s now twice as strong and has a much larger range, so the background is also included so you don’t have such an extremely lit face (not a pretty face) against a pitch-black background.

9. The battery

It lasts much, much longer...
