4 THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT SEX AND THE CITY

It’s already been six years since the very first Sex and the City movie was released (worst movie ever by the way, but anyway) and that is why the produced Darren Star thought it would be the best time to share some fun facts about our all time favorite show. The conclusion? Sex and the City as we know it could have been completely different…

1. no happy end for Carrie and Big

That is what Darren Star wanted. The difference between Sex and the City and a regular rom com is that it had a raw edge. And raw edges tear. It wasn’t Darren who wrote the very last episode which lead to a happy end between Big and Carrie. He might not have been for this ending, but we all sure were.

2. Three different endings

Apparently they had even made three completely different endings. There’s the one we know, one where Aleksandr Petrovsky heads back to New York to try and win Carrie’s heart back and one where Carrie goes back to New York all alone. Now I want to know exactly who I need to call to see all of these outtakes…

3. this is what would have happened if sjp hadn’t taken on the role of carrie

Then Lisa Edelstein (who your might know from House) would have given life to Carrie. Nothing against Lisa, but we’re not really sold on the idea…

4. Sarah Jessica Parker had a tough time

Mainly because Sarah and Carrie had so many similarities (both obsessed with suits and heels, both lived in the same NY neighborhood) she was the perfect fit for the character. But on the other hand, it made her personal life a bit confusing because she and Carrie were not the same person and the things she did and her way of thinking were not always the same as Carrie’s. This made it tough on her every now and then. Hopefully not too tough that she’ll never want to get back into her Carrie persona. But maybe perhaps we really are all too old for it now…
