4 X FUN BEACH BARS IN THE NETHERLANDS

The past few days we have been completely soaked, but there will also come a time to dry off. In fact, we are getting a heatwave. On Wednesday and Thursday, the thermometer will hit 30 degrees, which means... to the beach. But which beach bar is cool? I’ll give you tips. Be early, because you know, when the weather is nice, all of the Netherlands heads out.

Aloha – Wijk aan Zee

There’s a good chance you’ll run into May here. And she is picky, so you know you’re in the right place. The kitchen serves incredibly delicious food and the menu features delightful juices. “You’d almost choose a juice instead of a glass of wine,” says May. It’s a trendy spot, but not necessarily a see-and-be-seen place. There’s just a chill vibe and relaxed music coming from the speakers. Oh yes, dogs are welcome too, and if you think about it, a beach chair under your arm is handy. There are many shells and wood chips on the beach.

Branding Beach Club – Noordwijk

Another trendy spot, but here you can definitely see and be seen. It’s also quite a chic place, so a little dressed up won’t hurt. Well, if you already have a very large pair of sunglasses on your nose, you’re good to go. On the menu: unbelievably delicious sushi.

Woodstock’69 – Bloemendaal

Here you are at the right place for a party at sunset. In fact, they are known for it. Woodstock’69 is a bit hippie, laid-back, and chill, and in the evening it turns into a big dance party. When the weather is nice, a large barbecue is fired up for delicious tender meat or fresh fish. Young, old, families: everyone is welcome. Just a nice mix of people, absolutely no snobs.

Strandpaviljoen Oase Domburg – Domburg

The name says it all: it’s an oasis of calm here. And sometimes you really need that. On weekends (with nice weather), there is live music on the terrace, and then you have exactly that sultry summer evening you’re craving. On the menu, you’ll find large platters of freshly caught seafood. That says enough, right?
