5 STYLE LESSONS YOU CAN LEARN FROM

Julia Restoin Roitfeld

If your mother Carine Roitfeld is, it is legally prohibited to walk around like a silly slob. Fortunately, daughter Julia upholds the family values of style and taste and can follow maman in my column, because you can still learn a lot from Restoin Roitfeld Junior. She is not for nothing the face of the H&M Conscious Collection.

1. Show some skin

Julia loves to show off her slender, French figure with Russian roots. And if you can pull it off, you'd be crazy to hide it. Preferably, a piece of skin peeks out from an asymmetrical dress. Or she wears a crop top that is just not completely straight or has a special sleeve that shows off a lot of arm.

2. Sex and sexy

Sex and being sexy has been well instilled in her little girl by Carine. While her mother is typically seen in a leopard print, you spot Julia nine out of ten times in a sheer item. She prefers half-covered, half-sheer. To keep it exciting and sexy yet never vulgar.

3. The leather skirt

While mothers prefer to wear their leather skirt to the knee and tapered, Julia opts for the leather mini skirt that ends halfway up her thigh. She is short in stature (French, right?), but this way she creates an optical illusion of more length.

4. Show that bra

Julia has been on trend for years by giving her lingerie a leading role in her outfit. A see-through (see point 2) blouse with a striking bra underneath, a corset as a top, name it and Julia has worn it. For a long time.

5. The middle part

Just a little anecdote on a Saturday afternoon. Estelle Cruijff (then still Gullit) went to the hairdresser as a young woman in Chelsea where her husband Ruud played football. Like a perfectly molded football wife, she uttered the legendary words: “I want my hair a bit shorter and the divorce in the middle.”

Just like Estelle, Julia rocks the middle part. Classic and feminine with a touch of French. Nothing more to add.
