With all love and respect for Marilyn Monroe and Yves Saint Laurent (okay okay, a bit more respect for Yves than for Marilyn), I am really quite tired of their rather brilliant quotes now. ‘Fashion fades but style is eternal’, ‘Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world’… Once they were oh so poignant, but after seeing (and using) them 117 times, they just don’t work anymore. Thank goodness for Iris Apfel (American fashion icon) who treats us to fashion quotes that are far from worn out, which you can use to beautifully silence people. Or give them a little push in the right direction.
