7 x things we do on girls' vacations

My vacation is booked. Somewhere at the end of August, we are flying with ‘the girls’ to Portugal. Seven of us in a large house with a garden and by the sea. Within walking distance is a surf school where we might book a lesson, provided the teachers are well-reviewed, and otherwise we just join the parties at the beach bar. The plan doesn't include much more than swimming, sunbathing, reading, and especially being very busy thinking about what delicious meal we will make tonight. Without even agreeing on it, everyone assigns themselves a kitchen task (salad, barbecue, the wine, sauces) and within an hour, a divine meal is on the table. This is going to be such a lovely vacation where we don't need any boyfriends, in fact; typical girls' vacation things happen that really don't require a man to be present. Like this for example:

• Every room in the house quickly becomes a pigsty and clothes are borrowed from each other.

• We wax our bikini lines with everyone present.

• The conversation topics are: men, sex, women (their ex), family, and insecurities.

• There will also be a time when we cry during a lot of wine and personal conversations.

• When you're in a group, there's always someone who feels a little left out. It happens.

• People smoke, burp, and if someone needs to go to the toilet for a big job, it's not a big deal at all. What am I saying? That's done with the door open.

• Everything is shared. The poop, the sex, the dreams; everythingggg.
