9 THINGS EVERYONE RECOGNIZES WHEN MAKING A PERFECT BUN
Life lessons in a row
Without my signature bun I don't step out the door anymore. Yes, okay, sometimes I do go out with nicely blow-dried hair, but somehow I always come home with a bun. It's just my favorite. Now I can manage it quite quickly, but I had to practice for quite a while. A perfect messy bun is just quite a task. Busy too? Then you probably recognize this.
Greasy hair
You are always told that you need to ‘prep’ your hair well to keep the bun in place. True. But the problem is that you probably put way too much product in your hair, making it incredibly greasy.
Too big bun
It's also always said that you need to tease your hair a bit. Then you get a somewhat voluminous bun. But sometimes it can also look like a bird's nest that is a bit out of proportion with the rest of your head.
“A problem you probably recognize if your hair is actually just a bit too short to make a perfect bun”
Too small bun
Prima ballerinabuns are of course fantastic, but it can also look like you actually have no hair on your head, but are still desperately trying to twist those few strands into a neat bun.
Bird's nest
Messy is okay, but you can also go too messy.
Too smooth
First working your hair with a blow dryer, then with a straightener, and then twisting it into a bun. Not very handy. It falls out immediately and the messy effect will of course never be achieved.
Perfect world
A bun should actually not be perfect . Or actually: it just depends on what you want. A donut or no donut. It's just a lot of practice to get the perfect result.
Hiding accessories
With quite a few hair ties and bobby pins, you can keep a bun in place all day. Nice. But having a bun where all the pins stick out completely and hair ties in bright colors peek through the bun doesn't seem to be the intention.
The mat
A problem you probably recognize if your hair is actually just a bit too short to make a perfect bun. Half of your hair falls out, leaving strands in your neck. A few is okay, but if suddenly half your hairstyle is hanging in your neck, you might as well go for the half-bun.
The placement
That's the hardest part. Too high can look too strict, too low looks silly, and too loose looks a bit lost.
