A little pain?

DON'T TAKE a shot, BUT DIVE

INTO YOUR KITCHEN CABINET

With a bit of a headache, people quickly pop a paracetamol, and I sometimes find myself guilty of that too. I don't think it does much harm, I must admit, but to be honest: you can also solve pains with certain foods. Your body will appreciate that a lot more, I can tell you. I'll tell you what and how. Maybe you can use this now, as many people suffer from a January dip with a lot of sighing and groaning.

Stomach pain: Make ginger tea, it soothes things and calms the stomach acid (if you have issues with that).

Headache: First, drink a large glass of water. You often get headaches because you haven't drunk enough.

Fever or inflammation: Turmeric (or yellow root) is a spice that I always have at home and often use in Asian dishes. I also make tea from it in the evening. This wonder tea from Rens Kroes, for example. Then you can easily doze off.

Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties, soothes pain (also works well for stomach pain), and helps with fever. It also works well for menstrual pain, so if you have that, brew yourself a nice cup of tea.

Cold: Make warm milk with cinnamon. Also very nice before going to bed, then you sleep like a baby.

Digestive issues: Chop a lot of coriander over your food or blend it into a smoothie. Your poop will appreciate it too.

And lastly, take a very short power nap before reaching for the medicine cabinet. That can help tremendously.
