A PARTY THIS: NEVER SPLIT HAIR ENDS AGAIN

I often get asked how I take care of my hair. Because it looks ‘so soft’. Now, that does a lot for my ego, but when I then respond with: “Uh, nothing, I don't even blow-dry it”, I usually get a strange look from the woman in question. I think I am honestly the only woman on this planet who washes it, lets it air dry, does nothing with it (okay, a little combing then) and just walks out the door.

But now, help. I notice that even the condition of my ideal ‘just out of bed’ hair is deteriorating. It might shine, but I also have those dead hair ends (the hell). And not just a little, especially as a travel enthusiast. It's the price you pay when your hair is blow-dried by the dry air in the airplane, your hair mask consists of salty seawater and pool chlorine, and your light strands don't come from a jar, but are a gift from the generous sun.

‘You won't find quinoa on my plate quickly, but putting it in my hair? It was worth the try’

So I went looking for the ideal hair care for my split ends. I can tell you: that was quite a quest. Because the demands are quite high: I don't want to smear any chemical shit in my hair, I don't want to spend hours in the morning, yes, it should also feel and smell a bit nice and preferably be a bit affordable if possible. After a while, I ended up with the Damage Remedy products from Aveda . This plant-based line helps to restore hair from the four most common causes of hair damage (environment, chemicals, heat, and physical damage) and nourishes the porous, damaged hair cuticles with quinoa proteins. It might sound a bit cray-cray coming from me (you won't find quinoa on my plate quickly), but putting it in my hair? It was worth the try.

I am now a number of Damage Remedy Split End Repair-treatments further and can tell you: this is absolutely insane. I apply a little bit to the ends before I go out the door and then the magic starts, until the next wash. My hair looks stronger, smoother (thanks to the ‘nagai oil’) and those split ends? Gone like snow in the sun. And finally, I can give a cool answer when someone asks me what I do with my hair. Winning!
