ONLINE FROST SHOPPING IS IT COMPLETELY

Coincidentally, this hobby arose simultaneously and in complete separation from Jet and me. “May, my espadrilles from Aquazzura have been delivered and they will be picked up again in an hour. So, in fact, I have earned €290.” That summarizes our latest hobby in one sentence: online frost shopping. And there are various variations of it.

With moderate shopping cravings, sometimes just filling your shopping cart digitally suffices. That lace DKNY dress, that palm tree bag from YSL or for example that denim skirt from Saint Laurent? With a smooth swing, you click it into your digital shopping basket. Close your laptop contentedly, let it simmer for a night, and the next morning your shopping needs are satisfied.

Jet often sets an ultimatum for her potential purchases. If the dress (that DKNY dress) hasn’t sold yet, then it’s fate and she will buy it. But even then, the hunger for new goods is often already satisfied when the date is just there. It’s the dessert theory. You really want a dessert, but if you take a walk, it’s out of your system. That’s how it works with shopping too.

You must, want, and will have those Jimmy Choo shoes. You know, the ones with 12 centimeters that are also adorned with sequins. They are super cool under jeans and perfect for your New Year’s party. Or you think, responsible as you are, go ahead and buy a summer shoe in the Net-A-Porter sale for later. That’s what you call strategic. Anyway, those shoes go in the cart and are actually ordered and delivered. You pull the ribbon, open the box, rummage through the black tissue paper, and have, in short, the whole luxury Net-A-Porter experience. And then you try them on and think: “I’ll just send them back.” That costs nothing and you haven’t spent anything. In girl logic it is; you have earned money. And then the whole routine starts all over again.
