ALPRO MADE HER DAY
If you, like me, don't drink cow's milk, you know that we are being taken more seriously these days. Coffee shops (the shops where, as the word says, they sell coffee and not joints) increasingly have options on the menu. Almond milk, soy milk, rice milk, oat milk, or coconut milk. At least... in the larger cities.
In Maastricht, I was looked at quite strangely when I asked what milk alternatives were on the menu. Yeah, skim milk or whole milk? Sigh... Green tea ezzebleef (that's dialect)
So it's a relief that I can start my brunch here on the weekend with a delicious Almond Latte. And end it. Heavenly.
This morning my heart skipped a beat when I heard that Alpro is finally, after a long wait, coming out with a new variant. Namely, Cashew milk. Saves me from buying bags of raw cashews because until today I made it myself. With filtered water and a pinch of sea salt. Homemade, still the best. But in my new busy Amsterdam life, I no longer have time to strain, blend, and funnel.
This morning my heart skipped a beat when I heard that Alpro is finally coming out with a new variant.
Why is cashew milk so delicious? Naturally a bit sweeter in taste than unsweetened almond milk, so ideal for those who like sugar in their coffee. Additionally, it froths perfectly, without clumping (ever had a latte that was made too hot, with chunks and flakes, yuck) The best part, only 25kcal per 100ml.
There is a downfall; before we have Cashew milk on the menu at our favorite coffee shop, we will be a year further.
But you can make it nice for your loved one this weekend. Together with a good breakfast (tip; make this ) In bed.
Netflix and chill...
