Amayzine’s Award Show
ILSE DELANGE WINS LOOK OF THE YEAR AWARD
In a fully packed Kleine Zaal of the Koninklijk Concertgebouw, Ilse DeLange and Rik van de Westelaken were crowned by us as best dressed woman and man of the year. Who else won? Claes Iversen (who knew nothing), Anna Nooshin, hairstylist Hester Wernert, model Cato van Ee, and Leco van Zadelhoff.
We have been fans of Ilse's looks for years because Ilse adapts her look to the occasion (The Voice Kids, The Voice of Holland, Eurovision Song Contest) while staying true to her signature: that of a country singer with a touch of rock, a drop of nostalgia, and a lot of femininity.
Everyone is in love with Rik, that's point one, and furthermore, he remains equally polite and stylishly dressed in all his roles, but he always seeks renewal and rejuvenation. Not provocatively, no, but using fashion to express what he had in mind.
There was a fairly high concentration of VIPs (Eva Jinek, Sacha de Boer, Rick Nieman, Jort Kelder, Marion Pauw, Mart Visser, Rens Kroes, Edwin Oudshoorn, Merel Westrik, Tim Oliehoek, and Michiel van Erp) who all seemed to be having a great time.
Of course, there are many magazines that organize an award show because award shows are fun. What we add to this is that we also honor the people who work behind the scenes of our beautiful profession. Hairstylists, makeup artists, models… These are the professionals who literally bring the looks to the forefront. With the special Look of the Year Awards, they also get to shine and sparkle.
And apparently, our guests found that fun because there were a flurry of messages saying: ‘Can I still come?’ and: ‘Can Dotan come too?’. Dude. Can Dotan come too? Of course. Fill the glasses.
We’ll keep dancing for a bit longer and I’ll tell you all about it on Monday.
