Fun & Famous
An evening with my new BFF
For five years, I have had my own classes in the gym. Bodypump, conditioning training, steps, spinning, yoga, I’ve done it all. So when I was asked if I wanted to interview yoga guru Tara Stiles on top of the roof of W Amsterdam, I suddenly got a flutter of butterflies in my stomach (oh yes, that’s how it felt). Duh, of course I want to!
In my yoga outfit, I stepped into W Amsterdam and took the elevator to the seventh floor. With a virgin strawberry daiquiri, I explored the rooftop terrace where all the mats, towels, and water bottles were already set up for the sunset. One quick selfie with the breathtaking view of the city, and then natural beauty Tara appeared next to me.
I checked off my little list of questions, and within ten minutes, Tara and I were BFFs. Did I want to show her the city over the weekend? Sure, sweetie, after an hour of downward dog tomorrow morning?
And colleague friends: Tupperware containers are totally normal, you know…
For those who don’t know Tara very well yet: this New York yoga queen has conquered the whole world in no time. She has turned her passion into her success and has released several DVDs and books on yoga and healthy food. Besides yoga, she loves to train in nature, sleeps without her phone nearby (she often leaves it intentionally at the office, say whaaat?), and always has a big pot of vegetable soup in the fridge.
Curious about what else I asked my new friend? Especially for you, lovely girls, I filmed my mini-interview, which I found a bit awkward the first time (hence my glance at the camera every ten seconds). Check, check, is it still running? Oops.
