3X bitterballs
but then very different
“Hey, the fries shop of Sergio Herman is open,” says Kiki, who is sitting across from me, nibbling on a carrot very nicely. Kiki lives in Utrecht, so she is definitely going to check that place out. “No, but I’m not going there for a while, I’m doing so well with being healthy right now.” I look at Kiki and find her incredibly sweet because I know she will be getting on a plane to a tropical island and that’s why she has (again) come up with a new plan to look great on the beach. The fruit cups and unroasted nuts are taken out of her bag again, and the sandwiches have been swapped for rice cakes.
So that’s why, Kiki, for when you really crave a delicious bitterball, but then think: oh no, shit that bikini… I have some other (delicious!) options for you.
Banana-oat balls
Honey
Banana
Oats
Sesame seeds
Very simple: mix, mash, stir everything together. Roll them into balls and put those balls in the fridge for half an hour. Here you go!
Coconut-orange balls
Medjool dates
Peanut butter
Orange juice
Zest of an orange
Desiccated coconut to roll the balls in
Ha! Everything can go in the blender (make sure to remove the pits from the dates) and just mix. Roll the balls and coat them in coconut. Then put them in the fridge for an hour and yum.
Carrot cake balls
Grated carrot
Nuts
Figs
Honey
Grated coconut
Cinnamon
Well, you know what you have to do. Just mix!
