Carolien's fast lane life

A big advantage of my job is that my hair is styled perfectly almost every day. A big disadvantage: after a few days, my hair stands almost upright from all the products they use. It often takes me two washes to get my hair clean again, plus a conditioner that makes my hair lifeless and heavy. So when I was demonstrated this new shampoo/conditioner that both cleans your hair thoroughly and doesn't make it feel limp right away, my interest was piqued. Now, three washes later, I have found my new favorite hair wash. And with this lovely new brush from Rock & Ruddle (same quality as Mason Pearson, but at a nicer price) my new hair ritual is complete!

Flared pants, lots of lace, tough denims: the bohemian chic trend is making a big comeback in all spring/summer collections. I can't get enough of the romance: as much as I love wearing heavy materials like leather and wool in winter, I prefer to wear light fabrics and the most romantic designs in summer! Unfortunately, it will be a while before those thin fabrics can come out of the closet, but a little browsing can't hurt... I saw this jacket from Moves by Minimum on Instagram and immediately added it to my summer wishlist. The hardest part about summer for me is always finding nice shoes. Any tips?

A few times a year, Kimberley Klaver organizes the fantastic SET Academy: a day full of acting and presenting lessons for young people who want to get a taste of the profession or gain some experience and would like to stand professionally on stage or in front of the camera. In this edition, I had the honor of giving the ‘presentation’ block together with Kimberley. We received 60 enthusiastic students spread over six hours, and I admit: I saw a lot of talent come through! As a conclusion, we went out for a bite to eat with all the ‘teachers’ at Palladium, and I can tell you: it wasn't just a bite... Everyone can still remember this photo, but a few hours (read: many gin tonics, white wine, shots, vodka, and all mixed together) later in the Melkweg, everything became a bit hazier...

Every year at Easter, it's a fixed tradition: eating asparagus at di mamma. Weeks in advance, I look forward to that moment, and in the days before, I eat significantly less so I can fully enjoy it. But this time, I caught a severe flu. The night before, I was in bed with a fever of 39.7 degrees and couldn't get a bite down my throat. But the only thing I thought about was: I must and will sit at mom's dining table tomorrow night! Fortunately, the fever was gone the next day, but to say I felt better: no way. With trembling and sweaty hands, I sat at the table, but those asparagus made me feel a little better with every bite. Sometimes the best medicine is a big plate of comfort food made by your mum.

When I was asked a few weeks ago for the celebrity makeover of Beau Monde, I jumped for joy. And when I heard who I would be transformed into, I almost fainted: my favorite actress Jennifer Lawrence! This has always been my favorite section, and I am very happy that it is back. I can only tell you: it is un-be-liev-ably difficult to imitate someone from a photo. You really have to pay attention to everything: every foot, finger, and expression must be the same. Fortunately, the fantastic makeover team was ready with the perfect designs and makeup tools. When we were done with this photo, I literally had to walk off the cramp in my foot for ten minutes: all nice and well, Jen, but could you please place your foot in a slightly less impossible way next time?
