Happy & Healthy

comments you get when you’re on a health kick

I’ve gotten various comments thrown my way about the way I’ve decided to live my life. Some nice, others not so much. The negative comments could really rub me the wrong way and so I always found myself trying to explain to others my reasoning for eating healthy and trying to spell out that it’s not a diet, but it’s a way of life. You don’t have to be strict, as long as you’re aware of what you’re eating blah blah blah.

“Just let me be” has crossed my mind a multitude of times, but it doesn’t phase me anymore. People always have opinions and some might find my healthy eating habits confronting and struggle making healthier choices of their own. Can you relate to this? Here are some examples:

“Why? It’s not like you need to lose the weight?”

“I would never be able to stick to it.”

“Do you ever have dessert?”

“The other day I read something about oatmeal being bad for you.”

“You can indulge in something unhealthy every now and then can’t you?” (WHO SAYS I DON’T?!)

“Do you ever eat junk food?”

“Do you ever skip a day at the gym?”

“Well, I’ll make sure to stay as far away from you as I can.”

“Is your fridge stacked with low-fat yoghurt?”

“Okay, I want to stick to a healthier food regime. What should I do?”
