A NICE PROSPECT
It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Yes, guys, we still have a little time to celebrate the end of 2016. Have the past few days also been themed around coziness and dinners with family and friends? I really enjoy it, and I become incredibly happy with all the glitter and lights around me. Business meetings suddenly become much more pleasant when they consist of festive meals, glasses of champagne, and macarons in all the colors of the rainbow. And I haven't even mentioned the planned dinners with friends and family over the past month.
Because I am the one who spends an entire day doing the grocery shopping every year. And I certainly don't get that list from just one store. The Christmas preparations start as soon as I leave my house with large empty bags, then I happily scour the market looking for the best vegetables, stop by the fishmonger for the freshest fish, pick up warm bread from the French baker, and end up at the cheese shop for the smelliest French cheeses. Then I spend hours in the kitchen to put the perfect five-course dinner on the table. My heart already skips a beat when I think about next year.
“Who plops down next to me?”
And as much as I love it, after such an afternoon among the pots and pans and an evening of dining, I am the first to plop down on the couch. On the third day of Christmas, the kitchen is off-limits for me, and on that day, someone else is allowed to cook for me. But who? And to just sit at that little table in my favorite restaurant alone… Deliveroo understands me. You know, those handsome men on blue bikes who bring your favorite meal when you don't want to get out of bed. Hungry now? Give them half an hour and the doorbell rings. Now that's what I call a nice prospect.
Still a man who takes care of my festive meal tonight. Who plops down next to me?
