Happy & Healthy
Do something extra nice for your parents
because you probably often forget that
For years you have been walking around in their house grumbling, whining, cursing, and shouting, and they had to tolerate all of that. Your parents, oh, those poor people. Sure; you were a teenager and it all comes with the territory. But still, sometimes I find it quite intense when you think about what they have all had to endure. Poor souls.
Once you leave the house and come to your senses a bit, you often realize that you were quite a jerk during your teenage years, so it's time to make that a little right.
Buy flowers
Oooh, a little flower, it can be that easy. I don't think I've ever given my dad a bouquet of flowers, but maybe I should do that more often. Everyone loves flowers, that's just a fact.
Bring souvenirs
Last week I was in Venice, one of my dad's favorite cities. We were walking in a museum (I forget the names of museums because I actually find it quite medium interesting to look at old paintings) and I knew my dad would find everything there very beautiful. Old medieval canvases, he loves them. So in the gift shop, I bought a book containing almost the entire collection and gave it to dad. He was really pleased – and so was I.
Go on a city trip
Take the old folks out for a weekend. How often do you still go on vacation with just your parents? I mean. Time to do fun things together again and now you are old enough to have a glass of wine, so that makes everything even more enjoyable.
Organize a dinner
Doesn't have to be for a thousand people, but just for a small group of friends. For no reason. Or just for the family, that works too. In any case, the parents don't have to do anything or arrange anything, just like you have been lounging around all those teenage years.
