Fashion dilemma of the week

THIS IS THE PERFECT WINTER COAT FOR YOUR FIGURE

The search for the perfect winter coat, I find it a thing. Because too warm, too cold, too long, too short, a too complicated closure or the perfect fit but no closure. Maybe you have already scored your winter buddy, but my search is not going very smoothly yet. And if you have encountered any of the above fashion mishaps, I will gladly help you find the perfect coat this weekend. So hop, read and head into the city! Okay, or pause Netflix for a moment, quickly fill your online shopping cart and check out.

Hourglass figure

This one is for the Kim Kardashians and Queen B’s among us. You have an hourglass figure and are lucky with a defined waist. In addition, you have curves that are perfectly proportioned with your shoulders. You can have many different fits and materials and therefore easily follow the coolest trends. Coats that accentuate the waist look best on you.

Apple figure

Is your volume, like Jessica Simpson and Drew Barrymore, mainly around your upper body? Do you have large breasts, broad shoulders but less waist? Then you have an apple shape. Because the volume is in the middle of your body, you can bring your body into balance by creating more around the shoulders. Long coats and coats with a V-neck look best on you. Short coats and prints are better left hanging.

Coat with V-neck, €69.99 H&M, Long coat with V-neck, €1,250 Isabel Marant, Faux fur coat, €130,- Topshop

Pear figure

Is the bottom of your body slightly wider than the top? Then you have a pear shape. You are blessed with a flat stomach, a slim waist, narrow shoulders, and have slightly wider hips. Your breasts are proportionally smaller and your thighs, buttocks, and thighs are fuller. Tip number one: create balance between those wide hips and narrow shoulders. You can best focus on your upper body. Think of coats with cool details on the sleeves and shoulders, shoulder pads, or puff sleeves. And of course, that slim waist should be seen. A belt or a drawstring always works well for you.

Coat with ruffles, €49.95 Zara, Coat with striking collar and drawstring, €2,700,- Mr&Mrs Italy, Tweed coat, €3,980 Gucci

Straight figure

With Keira Knightley and Kate Hudson, the upper and lower parts of the body are almost equal to each other. Is that the case for you too? Then you are a lucky one with a often slim and athletic figure. Your waist and curves are slightly less pronounced and your shoulders and hips are generally narrow. The strength lies in creating extra feminine shapes. You can do this perfectly with a tailored coat. Coats with vertical stripes or prints do slightly less well, as they emphasize your straight figure. Coats with a belt or striking detail look super beautiful on you.
