Happy & Healthy
FOR WHEN YOU'RE ALMOST GOING ON VACATION
and just need to lose a few kilos
Houston, as I mentioned the day before yesterday , I still have un problema muy grande., In just over two weeks, I have a Tuscan wedding and my body is not, uh, summerproof yet. So I reached out to Jet. She looked strictly at my movement and eating patterns and created a basic list for me. Are you also struggling to say goodbye to those extra kilos? Then you need a healthy-Jet-injection just like I do.
Rapapapammm, here they are, the 15 steps I’m going to follow in the coming weeks:
1. From now on, you’re going to skip alcohol. Drink plenty of water and green tea.
2. For Christ’s sake, Kiek, eat some VEGETABLES, according to Jettie. Cook, steam, stir-fry, bake: something with vegetables. #okésorry
3. Nope, no more taxis. Really not.
4. Which is why we immediately concluded that I need to buy a bike in Amsterdam. I must be the only loser without a bike.
5. And that I’m going to exercise at least once a week for the next two weeks. Preferably twice. And the excuse ‘I’m too busy’ counts as high treason.
6. The cookies I often have on my desk are now forbidden.
7. From now on, I will do my grocery shopping extensively and well. And on Jet's advice, I will fill the entire fridge with as much colorful fresh food as possible.
8. What I will cook myself every evening. No more ready-made meals.
9. If I have no inspiration, I’ll text Jet asking what I should cook.
10. And as proof, I’ll send a photo. Something about social control and such.
11. From now on, I start the day with a dance. Or with a 7-minute workout. Or, and my partner will like this: “Go completely wild during sex. And have sex more often.”
12. “Get up a bit earlier to have a decent breakfast. If you start your day healthy and tasty, there’s a good chance you’ll keep eating healthy for the rest of the day.”
13. Do you often take the train to work? Avoid the kiosk and pretty much all station food.
14. Jet and I have our own personal trainer (a watermelon ball, yes) named Wati, with whom we’re going to toss around every day.
15. Last but not least from our health coach: “Do you want to indulge just once? Then just do it. But in moderation. Craving a brownie? Then take half. Take small bites and enjoy it intensely.”
So, people often remember the last thing they hear and now I can only think about a brownie. Just a little piece then?
