THIS IS HOW I MAKE QUARK BALLS

There is something about quark balls. Suddenly everyone is eating quark balls. The super healthy foodies (vegan and such), but also dudes who are growing serious muscles in the gym, left the oliebollen behind during New Year's Eve and opted for a lighter and more responsible variant. I'm always up for that. And not just in December, but even now these balls are flying around your Instagram ears.

The design girls Chantalle and Tessa jumped into the kitchen and each made their own variant. One with wheat flour, quark, strawberries, and vanilla sugar and the other with flour, quark, apple, and currants. Delicious, for sure. Today it was my turn. I chose an even healthier variant, you know me. I'll give you the recipe because I'm very satisfied with it myself.

This is what you need for about 10 quark balls

200 grams of raisins

250 grams of vanilla quark, preferably from EkoPlaza from the brand Weerribben (THE BEST QUARK EVER, but that's beside the point)

250 grams oats

2 eggs

1 tablespoon of olive oil

1 tablespoon of organic baking powder

pinch of salt

Here’s how to make it

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

Soak the raisins in warm water for ten minutes.

Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them together with a spatula. Your batter is ready. So simple.

Place a sheet of baking paper on a baking tray and make ten balls from the batter. You can best do this with two tablespoons. Or you can make ten mounds if you find it difficult with the spoons.

Bake the balls for 20 minutes. Not longer, otherwise they will become dry!

This is also very tasty with a bit of jam or a slice of cheese. I actually think it resembles a super healthy currant bun or a healthy scone with raisins. A more fun name than a quark ball, don't you think?
