 HOW MAYS MEDIUM DRY JANUARY

A LIQUID JANUARY WAS

January was supposed to be the month of without wine. Jet came up with it (because all healthy ideas spring from there) and we joined in. Translator Elke, fashion director Simone, her husband, Daan our sales director's husband, and me.

My attempt stranded after a week and I changed the title of my month to medium dry january. This led to some chuckles here and there from my dear colleagues. But not long after, one after the other bit the dust. To still be able to leave this month with my head held high (and okay that I’m sitting in a bikini in Cape Town while you read this also helped) I decided to throw in a three-day detox.

From all the hundreds of detox programs, I chose that of Detox Delight. They really have delicious juices and at the end of the day, a soup is served. Detox Delight is the detox for lazy luxury cats like me. Everything is delivered ready to go and (yes sorry I love it) the bottles are beautifully designed and I keep all the jars where the soup is in.

I started on the weekend and allowed myself two days in sweatpants on the couch with Downton Abbey, the fireplace, and my juices as best friends. I even resisted dry Italian sausages and the tastiest Chilean chardonnay at a friend's gathering. I had no headache and I think I had no issues with these uncharming side effects. I did sleep like a rose and felt myself getting fitter and more active by the hour.

Completely in good shape, I emailed Liony from Detox Delight if I could add another two days. But the fresh juices had just been delivered... I almost reached for carbohydrates and coffee again when Liony emailed that she had arranged an express delivery from Germany of another detox. The Juice Delight Easy.

Could it be any easier? Apparently. These are six juices, so you don’t even have to warm up a soup. And there was a bag with small, delicious crackers included. Now just hope that wasn’t an accident because I of course downed them all at once.
